A classic favourite


  • 10 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 cups Plain flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 250g Butter, soft, diced

Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 180°C.

Step 2

Peel, core and thickly slice the apples. Spread apples evenly over the base of the Sauté Pan and sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup water. Saute over medium heat until apples are soft (about 5 minutes).

Step 3

Sift flour into a bowl; add oats and sugar.

Step 4

Rub butter into flour mixture.

Step 5

Sprinkle mixture evenly over apple.

Step 6

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Chef's Tips

Serve with fresh cream or ice cream.



My favourite dessert recipe! I used 3 x 400g cans of apples and cooked up a bunch of rhubarb and added it to the mix. So quick, easy and delicious!


This recipe is so easy my 7 year old niece loves helping me make this! It's so tasty
