Apple & Sour Cream in a cake is like heaven on earth!


  • 80g Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Castor sugar
  • 1 cup coconut shredded
  • 200g Sour cream
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 425gram tin of pie apples or 5 granny smiths peeled finely sliced, cooked in microwave for 5 minutes

Step 1

Melt butter in Sauté Pan on low heat, add eggs and beat with whisk.

Step 2

Add castor sugar, coconut, sour cream, flour and mix well

Step 3

Add apples gently blending through cake.

Step 4

Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Step 5

Cook with lid on, vent open on low/medium heat until the lid is hot (5 mins) then turn down a little.

Step 6

Cook for approximately 25 minutes.

Chef's Tips

Delicious hot or cold served with cream/ custard or ice cream.

I love this cake! It's so quick and easy to put together, great for unexpected guests, and absolutely delicious.
