This traditional Italian Christmas cake is an elegant nod to that amazing cuisine. Easy to throw together. It needs a bit of elbow grease to stir the honey through.
Heat oven to 120C.
Bring honey, sugar and water to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Mix all remaining ingredients together thoroughly.
Stir honey mixture through the dry ingredients to thoroughly moisten them. You'll end up with a thick paste. It will take 3-5 minutes.
Lightly butter the base of a spring form pan. Dust with cocoa. Pour chocolate mixture into the spring form pan. Push it down to an even thickness.
Bake in oven for 1 hour.
Remove from oven and let cool.
This cake is delicious but quite rich, Serve small pieces.
