Pressure Cooker Braised Steak

Just like Nan used to make! Pressure Cooker Braised Steak is an easy and quick dinner that can be made using frozen steaks and a delicious sauce.

Ingredients

    • 1kg oyster blade steak
    • 2 tbls spns of Plain flour
    • Pinch salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 to 2 table spoons Olive oil
    • 1/4 cup Butter
    • 2 onion sliced
    • 1 1/4 cup beef stock
    • 1 tsp Vegemite
    • 1 tblspn Tomato paste
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Step 1

Season flour with salt and pepper and coat steak in mix.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pressure cooker and quickly brown the steak and put it to one side.

Step 3

Add butter and onions and fry until caramelized

Step 4

Add stock, vegemite, tomato paste, and combine.

Step 5

Add steak and add to the pressure. Cooker for 25 mins.

Step 6

Quick release. Put steak to one side and thicken gravy with flour or cornflour. Serve over steak with veggies or your choice of side dish.

Chef’s Tips

You can add mushrooms to this dish as well. Serve with pasta or mash, veggies, or just on toast!!

  • 1 Pressure Cooker

  • 1 kg oyster blade steak
