Authentic taste of herbs and spices to create finger-licking chicken!


  • 1.5 kilos chicken pieces
  • 600ml Buttermilk
  • 1.25 cups Plain flour
  • 3Tbs Southern Fried Chicken Blend
  • Vegetable oil to shallow fry
  • 1 Egg

Step 1

Place the chicken pieces in a dish and cover with buttermilk. Leave to stand overnight.

Step 2

Sieve the flour and stir in the spices.

Step 3

Beat the egg in a shallow dish.

Step 4

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and drain, dip into the beaten egg then roll in the seasoned flour.

Step 5

Allow to stand for 15 minutes.

Step 6

Heat oil in a large frypan until very hot.

Step 7

Place the chicken skin side down and cook for 10 minutes before turning over and cook for a further 10 minutes.

Step 8

Drain on kitchen paper and serve.

Also great to use for Chicken Nuggets and Schnitzel - the perfect breadcrumbs!
